Iranian national pavilion participated in Gitex 2015

Gitex
exhibition is a technological event which has been annually held since 1981 at world
trade center in Dubai, UAE and its 35th edition took place this year under the
slogan of “The internet future of everything”. Gitex 2015 hosted more
than 3500 exhibitors and 140000 visitors concerning various fields including
internet of things (IoT), network and network software, related software and
hardware, security, cloud computing systems, big data and 3D printing. As
previous years, many Iranian software developing companies attended this
exhibition with a major difference that this year, Iran participation was in
the form of a pavilion consisted of 11 knowledge-based companies. It was
established with the support of Iranian export services corridor of knowledge-based
products. This pavilion with a space of about 110 square meters was held by
leading companies in different fields and with the support of export services corridor
covering 70 percent of attending expenses.

In
addition to the main exhibition, a meeting was held focusing on the
presentation of the “investment potential and opportunities in the ICT
market of I.R. Iran” with attendance of several international companies
interested in Iranian markets after abolishing sanctions. Eng. Estiri, director of international business
development office of vice-presidency for science and technology, Dr. Moosavian
director of Information Technology & Digital Media Development Center of
Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Eng. Hajipoor vice president of organizations
of Iran chamber of commerce, administrators of organizations working in
different areas of ICT affiliated to Iran chamber of commerce and journalist in
ICT domain also attended this meeting. In addition to the exhibition, bilateral
meetings were held upon the request of some major foreign companies active in
the software field including ORACLE, MICROSOFT, SAP, GEMALTO, IBM, etc. and their
presence and investment in I.R. Iran were negotiated. In these bilateral
meetings, supporting provisions provided by the vice-presidency for science and
technology for entrance of major companies and transfer of technology to
knowledge-based companies were discussed.
